Take Time to Remember and Honor At Ground Zero NY
In honor and recognition of the thousands of victims and survivors of the September 11th attacks, construction is now underway of the National September 11th Memorial & Museum.
The Holiday Inn SoHo honors the losses of the tragic day and is a quick twenty-minute walk to visit Ground Zero. The Holiday Inn SoHo offers free wireless Internet to look up walking directions to this historic site.
A beautiful Memorial Plaza with over 400 oak tress that surrounds 2 memorial pools will also be placed at Ground Zero NY. Both the Memorial Plaza and Museum are expected to open in 2011 on the 10th anniversary of 9/11.
Visiting Ground Zero NY Today
Founded by the September 11th Families Association, a Tribute World Trade Center has opened on Liberty Street near Ground Zero NY to memorialize the tragic events of 9/11.
Here you can take advantage of a free walking tour through five exhibits depicting the lives lost, survivors and heroes. Or experience a one-hour guided tour for a $10 donation.
The Tribute World Trade Center is Open Monday-Saturday, 10am to 6pm and Sunday from 12-6pm.
To see the most complete exhibit commemorating the 9/11 attacks, be sure to visit the New York Fire Museum. Located in SoHo, and open Tuesday through Sunday 10am to 5pm, here you can even catch an occasional special event being held in honor of their lost comrades.
Ground Zero NY Museum Workshop
Before visiting the World Trade Center site you can learn more about the 9/11 terrorist attacks in New York when you stop into this unique museum. The Ground Zero NY Museum tells the story of tragedy, shock and recovery through artifacts from the World Trade Center, rare videos and audio clips, and the profound photography of the Official Ground Zero Photographer Gary Marlon Suson
